Verse and Chorus chord progression for an Allman Brothers classic.
Based on the solo section from Hotel California.
Bm pentatonic with occasional wanderings into the B Harmonic minor scale.
Based on La Grange.
This arrangement uses a shorter intro then jumps into longer main verse & solo
sections- including key changes.
Great song to just JAM on!
I used Am Pentatonic and Cm Pentatonic scales to improvise my solos here.
Based on the solo from Bob Seger's Mainstreet.
This has always been one of my favorite guitar solos.

Use D Mixolydian to improvise.
I played main album version solo here and then improvised the rest.
A Santana groove based on Oye Como Va.
I played my solo here using the A Dorian mode.
A Minor Pentatonic will work too, but it will be missing that
Santana flavor provided by the extra 2nd and 6th notes.
I used my Les Paul Custom, plugged into Line6 PODxt
Southern Rock style song in the Key of D.
I played my solo here using the D Mixolydian mode.
The chord progression is: D C G D
I used the Les Paul and PODxt.
This original song has a little bit of a Pink Floyd vibe.
I played the solo in D major pentatonic.
I used a Tele that I built myself. Plugged into Line6 PODxt.
The arpeggio rhythm comes from a digital delay that is repeating in time with the single
note picking (a la Floyd).
My own instrumental version. I played the solo in here G Major pentatonic
with the addition of a 4th(C).
The chords are G D Am G D C
I used my Fender Tele Plus, plugged into my Fender Concert (1x12) and
mic'd with a Shure SM57. Also using a BOSS distortion pedal.
Jazz style chord progression I borrowed from my ace student Kendall Day.
I used Eb Lydian mode for this solo.
Chords: EbMaj7 D7 Gm7 Fm7 Bb7
Eb Lydian is the 4th mode of the Bb Major scale.
I played this solo on my Les Paul.
